Facial Skin Rejuvenation

With time and age, the skin quality starts deteriorating, sagging, accumulating wrinkles and losing its youthfull glow. Hyperpigmentation (sun spots or liver spots) may appear due to sun exposure, pregnancies or even due to certain medications.

If the problem consists on poor quality or aging of the skin, acne scars or fine wrinkles, then a skin resurfacing might be the answer for you.

This can be achieved by different methods:

Chemical peels
Laser peels
Dermabrasion

Every patient’s skin type is different and may not be elegible for certain procedures. In our personal experience, we have worked for the past 25 years with chemical peels, mainly intermediate depth peels done with TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) and Deep Phenol peel’s also known as Deep Facial Skin Rejuvenation Process.

The deeper the peel is, the better the result is, let us explain the difference’s between both peels

Intermediate Depth Peels (TCA):

The skin on your face and body contain millions of cells. All of the skins cells eventually die and are replaced by new skin cells underneath them.

With age, this regeneration of cells becomes slow and sometimes uneven, giving the appearance of hyperpigmentated or “blotchy skin”.

The intention of an intermediate peel is to “peel” off the superficial layers of the dead skin to promote your own skin regeneration, giving a fresh and smooth look to the face.

If you are interested in a procedure like this, we would like to see you for a complimentary evaluation so we can examine your skin condition and suggest which treatment would be best for you.

The procedure is done as an outpatient basis and the recuperation is from 5 to 7 days at home. At the beggining, the skin is going to be swollen and reddish like if you had a bad sunburn, then the old skin starts flaking and peeling off with the appearence of the new skin.

The patient’s skin after the TCA Peel will be more sensitive to the sun for a period of 6 to 8 weeks. During this time, it is important to take care of your new skin with a sunblock and sunhats and avoid direct sun exposure if posible.

Deep Phenol Peels

When an intermediate depth peel is not enough because the patients skin is heavilly wrinkled or contain deep acne scars, a deep facial skin rejuvenation is needed. This procedure is so effective shrinking the skin, that it works as a non-surgical face lift.

During the procedure, a special chemical formula is applied to the skin of the face, this will produce an immediate exfoliation of the skin, then a medicated tape mask is applied to the face, leaving the eyes, nose and mouth uncovered. After the first 48 hours, the mask is removed and iodine powder is applied to the skin of the face and neck for the next 8 to 10 days. The whole process takes form 10 to 12 days, the procedure is done under sedation administered by an anaesthesiologist, and the recuperation period is spent at our facilities or at a hotel in the city.

Once the patient is ready to go back home, you will have a new rejuvenated “baby skin” with very little wrinkles, it will be redish for 3 to 6 months and then it will be lighter in color than what it originally was. It is important to avoid direct sun exposure and to use a good sunblock during this time.
